Welcome to Healing Handyman! We’re happy to provide our handyman and maintenance services to you. These Terms of Service outline what you can expect from us and what we need from you to make sure everything goes smoothly. By using our services, you agree to these Terms. If these Terms don’t feel right for you, no worries—we ask that you refrain from using our services. These Terms apply to everyone, whether you’re a homeowner, renter, property manager, or business.
Healing Handyman offers a variety of general repair, maintenance, and installation services, including but not limited to:

We may decline jobs if they fall outside our scope or capabilities, but we’ll always let you know why.
Handyman Status (Not a Licensed Contractor)
Just a quick heads-up: In California, there’s no specific "handyman license" for general repair work. This means that while we’re skilled at handling small to medium repairs and maintenance, we’re not licensed contractors and can't take on specialized or large-scale projects (like major electrical or plumbing work). Specifically, we’re able to work on jobs that cost under $1,000 total—so if a job requires more complex work or falls outside the handyman laws, we’ll let you know and help you find the right licensed professional.
Compliance with Local Codes
While we always strive to follow the rules, please note that our work doesn’t automatically meet local building codes or permit requirements. If your project might need a permit or licensed professionals, we recommend checking with local authorities to be sure. We’re happy to offer guidance on this, but the responsibility for obtaining permits or ensuring code compliance rests with you, the client.
General Waiver
We take every job seriously and strive to do things right the first time. However, we understand that sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned. If we make a mistake, we’re committed to correcting it as quickly as possible. That said, there may be situations where unexpected issues arise that were hidden or not visible before we started the work. In those cases, we’ll always keep you informed and discuss the next steps, but we’re not liable for damage or issues that come up as a result of those unforeseen circumstances.
Property Damage
While we take great care to avoid any damage, some repairs may uncover hidden problems or result in new ones that we couldn’t predict. If this happens, we’ll work with you to address it, but we’re not responsible for damages caused by issues that were hidden before we began the work. We’ll always keep you in the loop and discuss any new developments before proceeding further.
We’re here to help with most small to medium repairs, but we don’t handle:
If a project seems too large or falls outside what we can legally do, we’ll let you know and help point you in the right direction.
Accurate Information
To make sure we do a great job, please provide as much detail as you can about what you need. The more we know upfront, the smoother the job will go. If there are any surprises or changes, we’ll keep you updated as we go along to avoid delays or extra costs.
Safe Work Environment
For our safety (and yours!), please make sure the work area is safe and accessible. If there are any hazards, like pets or dangerous equipment, just let us know in advance. This helps us get the job done quickly and safely.
Adult Presence Requirement
An adult (18 years or older) must be present during the scheduled repair appointment. This ensures that someone is available to provide access to the work area, make decisions, and communicate with us if necessary. We cannot proceed with the work if an adult is not present at the time of the scheduled appointment.
Pricing and Estimates
We believe in being upfront about costs. Before we start any work, we’ll give you a clear estimate. If anything unexpected comes up (like hidden damage or needing extra materials), we’ll let you know right away so there are no surprises.
Payment Methods
We accept debit/credit cards (with a small processing fee), Zelle, or cash. Payment is due when the work is completed unless we’ve agreed to different terms in writing.
Cancellations & Late Payments
If you need to cancel or reschedule, just give us a heads-up at least 24 hours in advance. If payments are delayed, we may charge a late fee, but we’re always happy to work with you if something comes up.
Right to Modify
Sometimes things change, and we may need to modify or pause services, prices, or policies. But don’t worry—we’ll let you know if something big changes, especially if it affects any upcoming projects.
Client Notification
You’ll hear from us if there are major updates, either through our website, an email (if you’ve given us your address), or direct communication when needed.
We always aim to provide a smooth and positive experience. If there’s ever an issue or misunderstanding, we’ll do our best to resolve it with open communication and a willingness to find a fair solution. If you feel something is not quite right, please let us know, and we’ll work together to address it.
If any portion of these Terms becomes invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
Right to Modify
We may need to update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective immediately once posted, unless we specify otherwise.
